My name is Ria Verma and I'm an Integrative Surgery Nutrition Coach.
Preventative and regenerative medicine has always been my passion. Welcome to my website.
As a Clinical Research Scientist, conducting clinical trials with leading edge bio-technology companies, I have been exposed to the devastating impact chronic illness has on people’s health. My approach to well-being is analytical and bathed in science. Yet my own inner self study has led me down the path of meditation, yoga, traditional and ancient practices, epigenetics and neurogenesis.

My journey into the field of nutrition and wellness started over 20 years ago with a personal health crisis unique to me. Until recently I was working with clients with various ailments, applying my analytical and scientific background to help them identify what their body needs and how to fuel it.

It wasn’t until I had a horrific accident, which meant I had to undergo trauma surgery that everything changed. The rollercoaster of emotions I went through prior and after surgery was overwhelming. However, I was determined to see this through and find my silver lining.

On the day I returned home after surgery, I made the decision not to take painkillers and work with food, supplementation, healing, visualisation and meditation to heal myself. Some days were tough, the nightmares due to the trauma, not being able to walk, trying to walk with crutches and not succeeding, the fear, the helplessness, the lethargy and lack of motivation had become a part of my life very quickly but yet everyday I was grateful for the tiny wins.

I remained determined and steadfast in my healing program and committed to my quick recovery. Fourteen days later I was walking, although my wound was still healing, this was an achievement for me and within the month I was able to go up and down the stairs and vacuum (this was a huge win for me, as I love to clean!). The decision not to take painkillers was a very personal one. For me it was symbolic… I was putting faith in my body and trusting it to heal, whilst supporting it with all the necessary nutrients it needed to succeed.
The incident I went through made me acknowledge that with over 8 million surgeries a year in the UK, there are many people going through a similar experience but who may not have the tool kit I had available to me. This was my epiphany and from there I discovered my desire to work with pre- and post-surgery patients following my own trauma surgery.

My Philosophy
I believe that honesty, integrity and compassion are the hallmarks of a good coach. I consider myself to be the bridge between the surgeon and what’s going on at home for you, with your diet, mindset and personal lifestyle practices.
I do what I do because I have the utmost conviction in the potential for the body to heal. The complexity and diversity of my clients have been my greatest challenges and learnings. Nothing gives me more joy than to see my clients have life changing transformations and gain immense clarity.
I like to describe my work akin to the ‘The Butterfly Effect’, whereby small changes to a seemingly unrelated condition can affect large complex systems. ‘The Butterfly Effect’ is a simple way to describe how small simple changes to your nutrition and lifestyle can impact your entire wellbeing.
